The name “Vex” was chosen because it means ‘subject to prolonged examination, discussion or deliberation.’ The concept of this project was to create a magazine based on the concept of visual culture. This magazine was created to promote forward thinking in visual culture with an emphasis on design, architecture and lifestyle. The magazine was designed to have a rich fashion magazine quality to it.

Cyrene – Part 2: Typeface Design

The influence for the typeface is from is a Cadillac advertisement for the 1958 Supremacy. The extreme serif design is what attracted my attention to the form design in the advertisement. The essence of each original letter was transformed into a form that would work well in today’s age of technology. The forms are designed to work particularly well in words and as a display face.

The overall concept is the creation of a hybrid job from graphic designer and marketing professionals with a central theme of, “Marketing + Graphic Design: Some things are better together. Consumerism – Product Tree

The purpose of this project was to create intriguing information design developed on a concept of our choice. My topic selection was “How many consumer products will a cord of wood yield.” A cord of wood is the measurement of volume of wood used in the United States and Canada. The amount is equal to a woodpile 4 feet wide x 4 feet high x 8 feet long.

The concept of this project was to create three different opening magazine spreads for the same article from Time Magazine. The magazine name is “otiose” meaning “producing no useful result” was chosen for magazine readers who care for causes near and dear to them and they by and large are compassionate.

Cycle for a Cure

This project began by choosing three products to create packaging for and the packaging must be reusable. This project is a special/limited edition purchase available in specialty bicycle shops and proceeds will benefit Breast Cancer Research. A major design goal of this project was to create a sense of cause and compassion in the consumer.

Miles Davis: Bitches Brew

This design goals and objectives were fairly simple in concept and more difficult in execution. Visual imagery had to come from creative collaboration during class. We created our imagery, collectively – by working on each other’s imagery during several days in our class while listening to Miles Davis – Bitches Brew. What we received from that creative collaboration was what we had to work with.

Greener Grass

The range of this website design encompassed five pages that required five very different media rich treatments of the information that needed to be displayed on each page. The purpose of the Greener Grass Hair Color and Designs site is to acquaint a potential new client with the salon, their services, products, staff and to brag a little about their company.

Letters and Ornaments 2007: A Typographic Calendar

The main goal was to create a visually appealing yet usable typographic calendar that would be more appealing to women as a result of the nature of the face. The major concept was to create a Bodoni type family typographic booklet. Overall design is meant to be clean, feminine and professional. Black ink was the only ink allowed in this project and hence the blue color is a result of cutouts in the top layer of white paper to reveal blue paper beneath.
